Publix Super Markets Charities donates $166,700 to local United Way initiatives

Spring Hill, FL - (March 27, 2017) - United Way of Hernando County Board of Directors and staff met with Publix District Manager Allyn Welch and Publix #457 Store Manager Darin Dampier to thank them for their generosity as they proudly presented a check to United Way for $166,700 from Publix Super Markets Charities, Inc.

There is a reason why Publix was ranked number 3 for best reputation in the U.S., according to The Harris Poll 2017 Reputation Quotient. They are not only famous for their exceptional customer service and BOGOS, but their charitable contributions within the communities they serve are life changing.

Thanks to the commitment and annual pledges made by over 960 Hernando Publix Associates, Publix Super Market Charities contributes a 75-cent match for their corporate support. The donation made will serve a large purpose at United Way of Hernando and reach thousands of lives by investing in local Health, Education, Financial Stability, Basic Needs, and Crisis Prevention services and partnerships.

Publix is by far the largest corporate contributor to United Way of Hernando County's Community Investment Fund. In honor of celebrating the hard work and dedication of Publix Associates, United Way and their Partner Agencies hosted a Publix Appreciation Day on February 25, 2017. A large group of community members gathered that day and created a flash mob at all eight Hernando Stores in thanks of their continued support.

Publix knows what it means to LIVE UNITED and their impact in Hernando County is invaluable!
